About the Founder

Hi!

I’m Emily Diaz, creator of POTENCIA. I am a young, Afro-Latina woman with a passion for learning, growing, and achieving.

I am proud to come from a supportive middle-class family who instilled in me the importance of always giving your best efforts and making learning a priority in life. These principles ultimately led me to excel academically and  graduate high school within the top 5% of my class; ranking number 12 out of over 600 students in highest GPA. As a result of my efforts,  I went on to receive automatic admission into the University of Central Florida where I graduated with a degree in business finance – go Knights!

Upon graduation I accepted a job  opportunity in the finance industry 1,000 miles away from home, from all I’ve known and everyone I’ve known, to force myself out of my comfort zone and show myself what I’m made of. It was by taking this risk that I am now able to see myself in a new, powerful light as I work to learn more about myself, the world around me, and how my passions can be used to positively impact the lives of others.

I am a daughter, sister, friend, partner, professional, and continuously working towards becoming the best version of myself every day. I recognize no one is perfect – no one should be. As long as I am granted the opportunity to wake up in the morning, I am striving to live better than the day before; and I want to help other young adults do the same. In a world preoccupied with the lives of others, I want to help young adults focus on developing their mental strength, achieving financial stability, and accomplishing their goals to guide their future success.

Let’s get to work!
